St. Paul Lutheran Students in Thorndale Win at State PSIA
St. Paul Lutheran’s students competed at PSIA, Private Schools Interscholastic Association, in Giddings back in February. Twenty one of our students placed in twenty nine events at the District level. These students headed to Texas Christian University on May 14th to compete against schools from all over Texas numbering between 150-200 schools. We are very proud of how the students represented St. Paul, Thorndale.
Every State Qualifier worked hard to get ready for State after District. Our coaches, many of which are volunteers, also worked hard to help the students be ready for the State competition. These volunteers started in October and have continued to practice through May for the State Qualifiers. Thank You!!
We are proud of all the students’ accomplishments. They did St. Paul Lutheran, Thorndale proud. We brought home twelve medals overall. The medalists are Dawson Gillmore 1st in Vocabulary, Justin Ford 1st in Dictionary Skills and 3rd in Maps, Charts, and Graphs, Emmerson Fisher 2nd in Dictionary Skills and 3rd in Vocabulary, Jenna Frias 2nd in Poetry Interpretation, Reina King 2nd in Calculator Applications, Ally Page 4th in Poetry Interpretation, Cohen Moss 5th in Storytelling, Kyla Daniell 5th in Storytelling, Agustin Cooke 6th in Art Memory, and Meagan Newton 6th in Ready Writing.
St. Paul Lutheran in Thorndale ranked at State out of 150-200 schools who competed in PSIA State. Elementary ranked 10th, and Middle School ranked 4th!! This is a great accomplishment for our Students!
This was another great ending to a fun filled PSIA year. The students are eager to start every year, and can’t wait for me to send out the sign up sheets. The students practice after school with coaches, some teachers and some parents, in order to prepare for the competitions. I am impressed every year with the effort put in by both groups. Thanks to everyone for their support, help, and prayers.
